SAIC Wins Potential $2.9B Task Order to Support Army Software Dev’t Lifecycle

Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) will continue to help the U.S. Army build, integrate and maintain software platforms under a potential five-year, $2.9 billion task order, the company announced on Tuesday.

Work under the task order will support numerous U.S. Army facilities, including the Army’s Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation & Missile Center, Systems Simulation, Software and Integration Directorate.

Accenture Federal Services (AFS) has hired William “Bill” Marion, former U.S. Air Force deputy chief information officer, as managing director of Growth and Strategy in its Defense and Intelligence practice, the company reported on Wednesday.

“I’m extremely excited to join Accenture Federal Services and the innovative, collaborative team,” Marion said. “I look forward to continuing to help bring new technologies that drive the DoD and intelligence community transformation across their mission operations, from cloud and mobile to artificial intelligence.”

Novetta Buys Software Engineering, Analytics Firm WaveStrike; Tiffanny Gates Quoted

Novetta has acquired software engineering services provider WaveStrike for an undisclosed sum to develop new growth opportunities for employees and expand its capability development expertise, Novetta announced on Monday.

“Combining our complementary capabilities and talented teams mean stronger support for our customers,” Tiffanny Gates, president and CEO of Novetta and a 2020 Wash100 Award winner, said, “The synergy between our programs positions us for larger-scale opportunities and reinforces us as a top destination for technical talent.”

SOSi Combines Defense IT & Intelligence Solutions in New Business Unit to Drive Growth; Julian Setian Quoted

SOS International (SOSi) has consolidated its defense information technology and intelligence solutions business units under the leadership of Ed Bachl, former co-founder of Vykin Corporation, the company reported on Thursday.

SOSi’s newly integrated Defense and Intelligence Solutions Group will align the company’s intelligence analytic, information operations, and technical collection capabilities with its world-class engineering, cybersecurity and mission IT expertise. To support a variety of programs in the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC).

“As a bold and agile organization, we are adapting our business structure to align with the operational and procurement strategy shifts exhibited by our customers in the defense and intelligence markets,” said Julian Setian, SOSi president and CEO and 2020 Wash100 Award recipient.
