John Magrane, who has more than more decades of federal market and military experience, has been named vice president of sales and government solutions within Optum’s federal health business, FedHealthIT reported Friday.
The retired U.S. Army colonel will oversee OptumServe’s work with the Defense Health Agency and Department of Veterans Affairs in his capacity.
Magrane most recently served as executive director of VA business development at ManTech International (Nasdaq: MANT) where he oversaw the firm’s VA portfolio.
Prior to joining ManTech in November, he led capture initiatives for the health division at Science Applications International Corp.'s (NYSE: SAIC) federal civilian markets segment.
He also served in business development roles at InterSystems and Savantage Solutions.
The 26-year Army veteran also teaches business doctoral students at Trident University International as adjunct professor.
