The Missile Defense Agency is seeking industry input on its plan to establish a consortium to help the agency procure research, development and prototyping services through an other transaction agreement.
MDA said Tuesday in a SAM notice it also looks to select a consortium manager to implement projects awarded under certain statutory authorities.
An OTA would allow potential bidders and their partners to apply industry best practices and help the customer agency explore innovation opportunities and work with research organizations that do not normally pursue federal contracting programs, according to the notice.
The agency intends to use feedback in efforts to develop a business case analysis and determine whether establishing a missile defense-focused consortium will support MDA requirements.
Responses to the request for information are due July 2.
