Rory Schultz, a 35-year federal government veteran, has joined Salient CRGT as executive director of strategic programs within the civilian services group, the company announced on Tuesday.
“I’ve asked Rory to ensure that he maintains our focus on delivering quality to our customers. Enabling our customers to meet their goals and continuing to maintain focus on our employees is vital,” said Atacan Donmez, senior vice president of the civilian services group at Salient CRGT. “I am confident that his leadership will continue to foster our growth and provide the best service to our clients.”
In his new role, Schultz will utilize his experience and leadership to manage the programs in the company’s civilian sector portfolio totaling over $180 million annually and involving both IT infrastructure services and application development engagements.
He will mentor and guide project and program managers in the management of complex IT programs to ensure customer satisfaction, as well as assist PMs in professional and personal development of all employees.
Schultz started his federal career as a GS-4 intern and elevated to complex positions until his retirement as a GS-15. He has worked for the Executive Office of The President, the Treasury, and the Department of Agriculture.
He spent 10 years at the USDA, starting as chief information officer and chief technology officer for daily operations with the Food and Nutrition Service. Schultz has served as client executive with the CIO/Client Experience Center over the past four years.
In his more recent role, he co-led the integration of daily end user services at the department and helped merge various agencies under USDA CIO for End User Consolidation.
During his tenure as the FNS CTO, he oversaw service desk and other end-user functions and provided a look ahead at the coming technology. He also served as director of DO Information Technology at USDA, supporting end users, application development and network security.
He worked at the Treasury as headquarters IT director and is former vice president at large for professional development at the American Council for Technology-Industry Advisory Council.
“I am honored to join such a talented team and look forward to providing our customers with outstanding system development and design, software delivery, and modernization services,” said Schultz.
