Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) has been awarded a $117.5M contract modification by the U.S. Air Force to manufacture communication equipment for nuclear-armed bomber planes.
The service branch exercised five production option contract line item numbers for the Global Aircrew Strategic Network Terminal program, the Department of Defense said Friday.
USAF selected the company in late 2013 to design and develop the GASNT Increment 1 through a $134.4M contract. According to Raytheon, the system works to transmit alerts that can help aircrews respond to an emergency.
The latest modification brings the contract’s potential value from $542.6M to $660.2M. Work will take place in Largo, Fla., through June 24, 2022.
