TYSONS CORNER, VA, February 28, 2020 — The U.S. Navy awarded Peraton a position on a potential $982.1M indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to help the service branch update and maintain its unmanned surface vehicle family of systems, ExecutiveBiz reported Feb. 18.
The company said Feb. 18 it can compete for delivery orders in six functional areas: ashore and host platform elements; autonomy and vehicle control systems; logistics and sustainment; mission support systems; payloads and non-payload sensors.
“As the Navy expands its Unmanned Surface Vehicle Family of Systems work, we are proud to be a part of this critical element of the Navy’s warfighting strategy for the future,” said John Coleman, president of Peraton’s defense and homeland security sector.
The base contract is for five years and the service branch may extend the period of performance through a five-year option.
