David Murphy, chairman of the board of directors at Riverbed, has been appointed to succeed outgoing CEO Paul Mountford on an interim basis. Murphy will work to drive the momentum in Riverbed’s digital networking and experience management units as the company looks for a permanent CEO, the San Francisco-based IT firm said Tuesday.
He also serves as a senior operating partner of Riverbed’s private equity parent company Thoma Bravo and previously served as president and chief operating officer of Blue Coat Systems. His more than three-decade industry experience has also included previous leadership roles at Mercury Interactive, Tivoli Systems, Qlik and Apttus.
Mountford took the helm at Riverbed in April 2018.
