Army Taps General Dynamics, American Ordnance for $133M Artillery Charge System Production Contract

General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) and American Ordnance have landed spots on a potential five-year, $133.2M contract to supply the U.S. Army with artillery propellants.

The two companies will compete for orders to manufacture 155mm M231 and M232 propelling charges for the Modular Artillery Charge System, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.

Army Contracting Command received two bids for the firm-fixed-price contract via an online solicitation. DoD expects work to be finished by Sept. 9, 2024.

MACS propelling charges are designed to engage targets at a distance of up to 6.8 miles and integrate with current 155mm artillery weapons.
