Former SEC Special Counsel Sonia Galindo to Head FLIR Systems Legal Team

Sonia Galindo, a more than 23-year legal professional, has joined FLIR Systems (Nasdaq: FLIR) as senior vice president, general counsel, secretary and chief ethics and compliance officer.

She will report directly to Jim Cannon, president and CEO of FLIR, and oversee the company’s global legal and compliance functions, the company said Monday.

Galindo will also advise the company™s board of directors and senior management on legal matters related to mergers and acquisitions, contracting, regulatory filings, intellectual property, imports and exports, data privacy, cybersecurity and other corporate activities.

Prior to joining the private sector in 1999, Galindo spent three years as a special counsel at the Securities and Exchange Commission.

She holds both a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance and economics from Hood College for Women, and a juris doctorate from the John Marshall Law School.
