Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has received a $289M contract to provide 24 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems and related equipment to the U.S. Army.
Production of HIMARS launchers will occur at the company-operated Precision Fires Center of Excellence facility in Camden, Ark., Lockheed said Tuesday.
Contract work is scheduled for completion in July 2022.
HIMARS is a lightweight mobile launch system transportable via C-130 aircraft and designed to fire Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System and Army Tactical Missile System munitions.
Lockheed has provided almost 500 launchers to the Army and international clients in addition to designing and producing long-range and surface-to-surface precision strike platforms over the past four decades.
