Barton Phillips, vice president of enterprise sales at DocuSign (Nasdaq: DOCU), has said agencies that aim to manage document workflows and accelerate document reviews should adopt cloud-based tools.
Phillips wrote that such cloud platforms work to help agencies establish a digital process that helps them prepare, sign, store and route documents from any type of device.
Such tools automatically establish an audit trail for everything that happens to a document, including the IP address and geolocation of anyone who interacted with it, he added.
He cited how cloud-based technologies could help agencies ensure the security of documents and contracts compared with paper-based workflows.
Phillips also mentioned some of the potential benefits of cloud-based document management tools to agencies, such as employee productivity, cost savings and improvement in government-citizen interaction.
