Vishal Gupta
Vishal Gupta, senior vice president for engineering at Symantec (Nasdaq: SYMC), will serve as chief technology officer and SVP for technology at Unisys (NYSE: UIS) starting Aug. 31.
He will directly report to Unisys CEO Peter Altabef and succeed Tarek El-Sadany, who will leave by the end of August to assume a CEO role in the technology sector, the company said Tuesday.
Altabef said Gupta is a “results-oriented technology executive†whose industry experience would benefit Unisys as the company works to advance its software-led services model and application products.
Prior to Symantec, Gupta worked at cybersecurity firm Silent Circle as chief product and internet of things officer.
He held senior leadership roles at Cisco Systems (Nasdaq: CSCO), Nortel Networks, MetaSolv Software and Mercer Management Consulting.
