The U.S. Air Force has awarded a $476.9 million contract to Superior Forge and Steel Corp. and a $419.6 million contract to A. Finkl & Sons Co. to manufacture BLU-137/B penetrator warheads.
Both indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts cover a guaranteed production of 300 warhead bodies during the first year of work and four-year options for up to 3,500 additional units.
The service branch will obligate $16.7 million to Superior Forge and Steel Corp. at the time of award and provide another $15 million in initial funds to A. Finkl & Sons Co.
The base performance period will run through May 3, 2020.
