Mitre, ForeFlight to Test Text-Based Mobile IFR Clearance Technology for Airports


TYSONS CORNER, VA, May 15, 2018 ” Mitre has partnered with ForeFlight to test a new mobile technology designed to simplify the delivery process of clearances for instrument flight rules, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

ForeFlight said Thursday its customers are invited to participate in the test, which aims to support Mitre™s research on how mobile devices can be used to deliver text-based IFR clearances at airports that are not equipped to provide pre-departure clearance or data communications clearance.
