Waltham, Massachusetts-based Verscend said Friday it intends for the acquisition to grow the company’s portfolio of healthcare payment integrity, analytics and reporting products designed to help clients address healthcare fraud, waste and abuse.
“An estimated one out of every three healthcare dollars is wasted in this country, a truly remarkable statistic when you consider how much the United States spends on healthcare services,” said Verscend President and CEO Emad Rizk.
Rizk added he believes that data analytics technology can help organizations further understand the movement of cost, quality and utilization of healthcare services.
Verscend offers products that work to help government and commercial providers manage care quality, risks and outcomes.
