TYSONS CORNER, VA, Jan. 2, 2018 R.J. Kolton, senior vice president for business development at Data Systems Analysts, has presented six approaches that midtier information technology companies can adopt in 2018 to drive long-term growth and their overall competitiveness in the defense market.
Kolton wrote in a guest post published Dec. 19 on ExecutiveBiz that a midtier IT company should establish a position as a prime contractor instead of a subcontractor to large business, and target multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts as a prime.
He added that the companies should also consider evolving global threats in their technology investments in order to address customer needs, as well as build capacity through corporate process improvements and certifications.
Kolton also believes mergers and acquisitions — planned with the appropriate resources, due diligence and business integration — will work to help midtier firms leverage their market position and penetration.
