Accenture‘s (NYSE: ACN) federal services business has secured a position under a potential five-year, $500 million blanket purchase agreement to support a shared services program at the Agriculture Department.
Accenture Federal Services is one of nine contractors eligible to compete for task orders to help USDAs Office of the Chief Financial Officer implement shared services across the department, Accenture said Wednesday.
Elaine Beeman, senior managing director and civilian portfolio lead at AFS, said the company looks to develop methods that can help address USDA’s business challenges and offer technology platforms to the department’s shared services customers in the federal government.
Task orders under the Shared Services Lines of Business Solutions contract encompass payroll, human resource, financial management, information technology, external systems development and personnel services.
AFS also helped consolidate USDA financial systems and processes as the system architect for the department-wide Financial Management Modernization Initiative.
