MD Helicopters has secured a potential $1.39 billion foreign military sales contract from the U.S. Army to produce approximately 150 MD 530F helicopters for Afghanistan.
The Defense Departmentsaid Tuesday the contract also covers program management, delivery, pilot training and maintenance support services.
MD Helicopters will perform work through Aug. 31, 2022.
The Army Contracting Command solicited one bid for the contract and will determine performance locations and funds with each order.
MD 530F is an armed variant of the OH-6 Cayuse light observation helicopter and engineered to function in hot, high-altitude environments.
