TYSONS CORNER, VA, Sept. 5, 2017 Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has begun the construction of a future 266,000-square-foot satellite manufacturing facility in Colorado in efforts to address upcoming production requirements, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.
The Denver Business Journal reported Thursday that Lockheed’s space systems business led the groundbreaking ceremony for the $350 million Gateway Center factory for small to large satellites that is anticipated to open in 2020.
Rick Ambrose, executive vice president of Lockheed Martin Space Systems and an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2017, noted the business unit has invested $250 million in facilities and $750 million in new space technology over the past five years.
