Harris a 19-year Dell veteran assumed his current role at Dell Federal Systems in 2014, where he is responsible for the companys implementation of information technology platforms and services for U.S. federal government and military customers.
Prior to his current role Harris served as assistant vice president of the company’s state and local government and education business for five years.
Subsequently he served in other senior leadership posts for the company’s SLED organization.
Dell and EMC completed their $67 billion cash-and-stock merger in September 2016.
This merger established Dell Technologies, an enterprise information technology company that seeks to offer clients a portfolio of tech platforms in cybersecurity, hybrid cloud and data analytics, among other areas. Dell EMC is one of the businesses that now operate under the Dell Technologies brand.
In November Dell EMC commissioned market research firm Penn Schoen Berland to conduct an online survey of 100 federal IT and business decision makers; where 93 percent of respondents said they consider converged infrastructure and mobility as significant characteristics of a future-ready organization. 44 percent said their agencies would invest in big data platforms in the coming year.
