Sam Raha
Samraat Sam Raha, formerly vice president of global marketing at San Diego-based genomics firm llumina(Nasdaq: ILMN), has been appointed senior VP of strategy and corporate development at Agilent Technologies (NYSE: A).
He will report directly to Agilent President and CEO Mike McMullen and serve as a strategic adviser to the Santa Clara, California-based life sciences firms executive team on merger- and-acquisition and growth strategies, Agilent said Monday.
Raha joins us with an impressive portfolio of relevant experience in general and operational management, marketing and strategy that builds on a foundation of life sciences knowledge, McMullen said.
He previously worked at Agilent from 2004 through 2007 as VP and general manager of the companys Americas field operations.
Raha oversaw product management, strategy and corporate marketing operations during his four-year tenure at Illumina.
Prior to Illumina, he served as VP and GM of genomic assays at Life Technologies, CEO at startup firm Joby and VP at General Electric‘s healthcare business.
Raha also worked at biopharmaceutical research company Incyte (Nasdaq: INCY) and held senior leadership positions such as sequencing business director, VP of discovery services and bioreagents and associate director of quality assurance and operations.
