Revision Military has received a potential five-year, $98.1 million contract to supply combat helmets to the U.S. Army.
The company said Tuesday it will manufacture the helmets at its facility in Newport, Vermont, through March 6, 2022 under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
The Army Contracting Command received five offers for the Advanced Combat Helmet Generation II contract that calls for the production of 293,870 units of ACH helmets, the Defense Department said in a March 7 news release.
Revision™s combat helmets work to protect soldiers from ballistic impacts and are designed to be up to 24 percent lighter than current ACH helmets, exceeding the Army™s 15 percent weight reduction requirement for head protection platforms.
Revision CEO Jonathan Blanshay said the company has been a supplier to the Army since 2005 and the ACH Gen II contract seeks to reflect the firm™s efforts to develop lightweight helmets.
The company supplied 180,000 ACH helmets to the service branch under a contract awarded in 2012.
