The company said Monday that work on the Wildcat Integrated Support and Training contract will begin April 1 and covers aircraft safety management, technical support, spares provisioning, synthetic and ground based training delivery for aircrew.
Thales will provide communication and aircraft management platforms while Morson will perform aircraft maintenance and support staff as subcontractors in the WIST program.
Leonardo aims to help sustain more than 500 industry jobs at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton and at a company facility in Yeovil, England through the contract.
The U.K. MoD received the 62nd and final Wildcat helicopter from Leonardo on Dec. 14, 2016.
