Former AF Chief of Staff Mark Welsh Joins Northrop Board of Directors; Wes Bush Comments

Mark Welsh III, a retired U.S. Air Force general and current dean of the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University, has joined the board of directors at Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC).

Northrop expands its board of directors to 14 members with the addition of Welsh, the company said Thursday.

“His extensive leadership experience and deep understanding of global security are a great fit to our board, ” said Wes Bush, chairman, CEO and president of Northrop.

Welsh previously served as chief of staff of the Air Force, where he oversaw efforts to train and equip active-duty, Guard, Reserve and civilian forces who serve within the country and abroad.

He was also a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, commander of U.S. Air Forces in Europe, commander of NATO™s Air Command, associate director for military affairs at CIA and commandant of the U.S. Air Force Academy.
