Nick Noviello, formerly chief financial officer at Blue Coat, has been appointed executive vice president and CFO at Symantec (Nasdaq: SYMC).
Noviello will succeed the departing CFO Thomas Seifert on Dec. 1 and will continue to report to CEO Greg Clark, Symantec said Thursday.
Seifert, who has been CFO since March 2014 at Symantec, will continue to serve in an advisory role at the Mountain View, California-based cybersecurity firm through March 2017 as part of the transition period.
In addition to [Noviellos] extensive technology background and public-company, financial and operational leadership experience, he brings an acute understanding and appreciation for Symantec’s outstanding people and the critical threat protection we provide for our customers in today’s increasingly complex security landscape, Clark said.
Noviello became chief integration officer at Symantec in August after the company acquired Blue Coat for approximately $4.65 billion cash.
He joined Blue Coat as CFO in January after three years as CFO and executive VP of finance and operations at data management and storage firm NetApp (Nasdaq: NTAP).
Noviello also worked at Honeywell (NYSE: HON) for eight years and held senior leadership positions, such as VP of investor relations and director of corporate finance for mergers and acquisitions.
He is a certified public accountant who began his career at PwC in 1991.
