TYSONS CORNER, VA, Sept. 22, 2016 John Lee, vice president for cloud services at Carahsoft Technology, has outlined the impact of the General Services Administration‘s initiative to accelerate the authorization process for cloud service providers under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, ExecutiveBiz reported Wednesday.
Lee wrote in a blog post published Tuesday that the FedRAMP Accelerated program works to limit the process to secure an Authority to Operate from the previous maximum timeframe of 18 months down to six months.
“Moving forward, the success of the new FedRAMP program will be measured by both classic adoption numbers, such as the number of CSPs in process and number of ATOs achieved, as well as nontraditional metrics such as the current state of security in federal IT in general, ” he said.
