Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has received a $181.8 million contract modification from the Naval Air Systems Command to manufacture alternate mission equipment for low-rate initial production lot 9 F-35s.
The Defense Departmentsaid Friday that Lockheed will build and deliver F-35 pilot flight tools, red gear and armaments to the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force.
The company will also provide similar equipment to Japan and Israel under DoD’s foreign military sales program.
Lockheed’s aeronautics segment will perform work at a company facility in Fort Worth, Texas, and is scheduled to finish by September 2019.
NAVAIR has obligated the full amount of the modification at the time of award from the Navy’s fiscal 2015 to fiscal 2016 aircraft procurement and FMS funds.
