Wahid Nawabi, chief operating officer at AeroVironment (Nasdaq: AVAV), will assume additional duties as president of the company.
Nawabi previously served as senior vice president and general manager of the companys efficient energy systems business segment, with responsibility in business strategy and new product launch, AeroVironment said Friday.
“As president and chief operating officer, Wahid will continue to focus on executing our operating plan while taking on a larger role in our strategic planning process to drive continued value creation, ” said Tim Conver, chairman and CEO of AeroVironment.
Nawabi led AeroVironment’s efforts to form an integrated corporate shared services model across both unmanned aerial systems and EES business segments.
Prior to joining AeroVironment, he served as worldwide VP of Altergy between 2010 and 2011 and previously as Americas VP for C&D Technologies.
Nawabi was also the enterprise segment VP at APC after it was acquired by Schneider Electric and held the roles of worldwide director for enterprise KGCS and service provider KGCS at APC.
AeroVironment manufactures UAS and efficient energy systems.
