Boeing Wins $855M Contract for USAF T-38C Avionics Integration, Logistics Support


Talon-planeBoeing (NYSE: BA) has been awarded a potential 10-year, $855 million contract to integrate avionic systems and provide logistics support for the U.S. Air Force‘s fleet of T-38C Talon trainer jets.

The Defense Department said Monday work is scheduled to occur through Jan. 3, 2026.

Boeing will perform work at a company facility in St. Louis, as well as at military air bases and naval stations in Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma and Maryland.

The Air Force received two offers for the contract and is obligating $750, 000 in fiscal 2015 research and development funds at time of award.

T-38s, which are designed and built by Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC), entered into active service in 1961 and have been upgraded to extend the aircraft’s lifespan until at least 2020.

The Air Force and NASA collectively use more than 500 T-38s to train pilots and astronauts.
