Tetra Tech Signs Deal to Purchase Cornerstone Environmental Group; Dan Batrack Comments


acquisitionTetra Tech Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEK) has agreed to acquire Cornerstone Environmental Group for an undisclosed amount.

Middletown, New York-based Cornerstone will join Tetra Tech’s resource management and energy segment upon the transaction’s scheduled closure in May, Tetra Tech said Wednesday.

“Utilities are faced with the challenge of responding to new U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations related to coal combustion residuals disposal requirements, ” said Dan Batrack, Tetra Tech’s chairman and CEO.

Batrack added Tetra Tech intends to help clients address those regulations through the Cornerstone buy.

Cornerstone provides environmental engineering and consulting services to solid waste customers in the U.S.
