General Dynamics to Maintain African News Websites


general dynamics logoGeneral Dynamics‘ information technology business unit has won a $6.9 million bridge contract with the U.S. Army‘s Africa Command to maintain two African news websites, FCW reported Tuesday.

Adam Mazmanian writes General Dynamics IT will continue its work on translation, posting of comments, survey writing,  Google Adwords maintenance and page modifications for Magharebia.com and Sabahionline.com.

The U.S. Special Operations Command previously ran the two websites as part of its Trans Regional Web Initiative, according to the report.

Magharebia.com is in Arabic with English and French translations and covers Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia, FCW reports.

Mazmanian writes Sabahionline.com features the Arabic, Somali, Swahili and English languages and covers Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea and Kenya.

The Army is scheduled to release a new solicitation in November, FCW reports.
