Cobham Wins Multimillion Dollar Contract from Sikorsky

Cobham plc (LSE:COB) has been awarded a multimillion dollar contract by Sikorsky Aircraft Corp, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp (NYSE: UTX). The contract is worth a potential $25 million and requires Cobham to manufacture composite components and assemblies for the main rotor blades of the US Marine Corps’ CH-53K Heavy Lift Replacement helicopter currently being developed by Sikorsky Aircraft Corp.

The final value of the contract will be determined by the number of aircraft that will be build for the Marines. Work will initially be done at Cobham’s Antenna Systems unit and will then be moved to its manufacturing facility in Suffolk, VA.

“This is an anchor program for our business with Sikorsky, and establishes Cobham’s composites business as a supplier to three United Technologies Corporation subsidiaries,” said Fred Cahill, Vice President of Cobham Antenna Systems.
