Contract Award – General Dynamics – $22 Million – Navy

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command has awarded General Dynamics at $22 million contract to support the Naval Integrated Tactical Environmental System Next Generation program. If all of the options are used, the contract could be worth up to $67.7 million.

The Information Technology unit of General Dynamics will execute the contract. Under the contract terms, General Dynamics will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and supporting the Naval Integrated Tactical Environmental System Next Generation (NITES-NEXT). The system displays oceanographic and meteorological data for mission planning and command and control systems. VP and general manager of Information Technology’s Naval IT Solutions, Kenneth Slaght, said “General Dynamics is excited to work with SPAWAR and the U.S. Navy to deliver a next generation tactical environmental system that will assist with safe passage and provide complete environmental assessment and situational awareness necessary for successful military operations.”
