Operateur National de Paye, the French National Payroll Agency, has awarded Accenture a contract to develop and implement a new national payroll system. Accenture will be leading the contract group, which includes Logica and HR Access, and the contract is for nine years.
Under the contract, Accenture and Logica will design, develop and implement the new system while HR Access will provide the application to administer the pay roll. The new system will be developed over the next three years, with a scheduled roll out date of January 2012. The following six years will see a progressive shift to 3 million payroll records with application management services being provided till 2018.
The new system is meant to simplify and improve the payroll system in France. The current payroll system used by the French government was developed in the 1970s.
