Contract Award – General Dynamics – $475 million – U.S. Navy


Today, General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics, announced that it has been awarded a contract for Hull, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic (HME&E) Systems Alterations Installation Team (AIT) support by the U.S. Navy’s Naval Surface Warfare Center. The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a total potential value of $475 million among all six awardees.

The contract calls for General Dynamics to provide AIT with a full spectrum of technical support services HME&E systems support during all phases of the installation process on aircraft carriers, surface ships, watercrafts, cutters and submarines for the U.S. Navy and other Federal agencies. These services include planning, fabrication, installation, evaluation and modification of prototypes and new HME&E systems.

“With more than 20 years of proven experience, General Dynamics understands the complexity of fleet installations and will provide effective and consistent support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, ” said Bill Cobb, vice president and general manager of General Dynamics Information Technology’s Combat Systems sector. “Our highly reliable, responsive and accomplished ship alteration project execution abilities will assist the Naval Surface Warfare Center in achieving mission readiness.”
